Because they're going to lead a peculiar life as wizards in the muggle world, so they'll always need to be careful about what they say in front of muggles. It would be good for them to have each other. I wonder about Harry, though.

oh, beautiful!! and, speaking as someone who's just spent the afternoon trying to do therapy with a small, teary, overtired youngster... i can totally sympathize how the little things become HUGE - the bag of sweets becomes the only important thing... and it breaks your heart when the little face crumples like that!
as always, you've done up a brilliant chapter, stunning in detail without overwhelming the reader. i felt like i was walking right alongside Draco and Kasen on the way to the shops.
can't wait to read more! and find out why Harry and James have moved, especially when James is so upset about leaving (though i suspect it's just the tears talking there...) *g*
