Spam Reporting in Communities

Short, concise description of the idea
This would grant members the ability to report SPAM in communities, something only maintainers can do at the moment.

Full description of the ideaI'm seeing an upswing of spam in a lot of communities. We have the ability already to report adult content but not obvious spam ( ( Read more... )

Yes, please. It's been exceptionally awful lately, and sometimes inactive maintainers don't address it.

I don't like the idea of this because right now, only one person can report one entry as spam, which means that for a person to get multiple spam reports, they have to be making multiple entries and are more likely an actual spammer. Allowing multiple reports on one entry would open up the opportunity for a group of people to gang up on one person - basically it makes it much easier for false reports to look legit, creating more work for the APT.

At the same time, anybody can report (aka flag) obviously adult things in a community without being a moderator/maintainer. This isn't really that much different, just without boobz.

I like the idea, but do feel the moderator (maintainer) should automatically be notified when this happens.

Sometimes a moderator misses things, but is still actively involved in a community. So it seems right to keep them in the loop somehow...

But YES -- I do think SPAM should always be addressed as quickly as possible. And we all know some of these things contain viruses, so...

Yeah, I agree the mods/maintainers should be notified. I think it's silly we can report obviously adult/pornographic things but we don't have the ability to report spam unless we are a maintainer/owner of a community.
