No. There's no check box to choose if you want to log in when you comment.

You can do a one-off without logging in, which is nice to have back, but if you're RPing and want to comment and log in as that character as opposed to whoever you're signed in as, you have to go up, log off, log back in as the right account, then go find your comment and tag in.

Also, with older computers like mine, I often used the check box as a way to be able to tag into a huge post by logging in as someone and thus going to the 'Your comment has been posted successfully. You are now logged in' screen rather than the huge browser breaking screen.

So basically the fixed it by removing the older option entirely, rather than by going back to what it used to be?

Yeah.

The 'fix' they implemented today was theoretically from my suggestion and when they told me today that they'd implemented it I pointed out that they actually hadn't implemented what I'd asked for. So, they changed the tag to 'implemented differently' and said I could try making another suggestion.

So... here I am - signed in as a different user from last time because, I forgot I'd originally signed in as this one when I filled out all the boxes and didn't want to do it over again - trying this once more.

Doesn't seem like anything has changed in particular. I still get automatically logged on every time I comment as an lj-user when I don't want to be logged on. I was never interested in being able to comment between accounts and when you're logged in as one account, but I find that not being able to make any one-off comments without having to log off afterward any more a nuissance.
