Sure! I was thinking Helen, but Lana would work, I'm sure. ^__^

I enjoy the Musketeers, but I'm not familiar enough with the Disney version and unfortunately, there's pretty much too DC here for me to be any use to you.

I always value your opinion.

Option three would be DC-free, and it doesn't have to be any crackier than oh, centaurs.

It's been so long since I've seen any version that I'm willing to take all suggestions on other versions, movies or book. Dumas is on my list to read, but this idea won't be written any time soon. I was just on youtube and watching the "All For Love" video... which also took me to Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do"... so Robin Hood is also on my mind.

(Wouldn't Lex make a fantastic Maid Marian? I can't decide if I want Oliver to be the Sheriff or Prince John.)

The point, being, that any commentary you would like to offer is welcome. I love DCU something fierce, but overall, I don't have enough grounding in the comics to pull off anything too DC-focused. (It's why I steal elements where I will and ignore the rest.)

LOLz, I suppose in some ways Lex *is* very Maid Marian. I think Lionel would have to be Prince John, don't you? Mmm, Clark, rescue me.

FWIW the Musketeers characterization I enjoy most is from The Man In The Iron Mask film with Leo DiCaprio. Maybe just because the cast they had was SO good - Jeremy Irons! Gerard Depardieu! The naked hanging attempt and the fart jokes! Oh. But I think the reason I like that so much is how it captures their friendship and affection for one another, all other things aside.

That might be a circuitous way of my saying: I really like the idea of Clark, Chloe and Pete as the Three.

*nods* Lionel = Prince John, yes.

Hee.

Ooh. I do remember liking TMITIR quite a bit. Should I decide to write a Musketeer story, I will do some measure of research. The Disney movie, the Leo movie (I find it amusing that you didn't point out Gabriel Byrnes, who was my heartthrob hero at the time of viewing), possibly the book, or possibly just Musketeer (which I haven't seen). Also, this movie. And maybe this one. >D

Hee. If going with The Man In the Iron Mask, Lex/Alexander would be the prince and the titled man. Things could most definitely get interesting.

I'm no help. I've never seen or read any version of this. All I know is the famous tagline and that awesome song you've got above. I love that song.

However, any story from you is a winner, and Clex is the chocolate on the Three Musketeers bar.

^__^ That song is awesome.

However, any story from you is a winner, and Clex is the chocolate on the Three Musketeers bar. I love you. That's a beautiful compliment... and if I ever do write this, that last part is going in my summary. *glomps*

Ooh I like Version B the best. I can just imagine Lex, Bruce and Oliver as the three musketeers and Clark as the young d'Artagnan. That said I think all versions would be awesome.

It would be much fun. And cracky, I'm sure. Or at the least, humorous. (I mean, sure, I could try to make it serious, but where's the fun in that?) Thanks for chiming in.
