The hard drive in rabbit1080's two year old laptop died last week - first time we've ever had a Mac die between the end of the first year and the end of the three year extended warranty period, so we haven't been paying the extra. The wee beasty seems happy enough with the new drive she installed over the weekend, but we could have done without the data loss and hassle of reinstalling everything.
I've had funny luck with HDD's...most have exhibited the "click of death" in time for me to grab most of my data from them before they die...still sucks tho
Thats because you brought a 'gamer' board with an enthusiast nvidia chip. And we all know how companies the world over like to fk people over with gamer products.
