Now see if I asked "Why are white people such assholes?" Everyone would be up my butt for being racist. But see, I simply observed behavior A coming from group B and I asked about it. No racism there. I mean if I asked "Why writers were such perfectionist?" Then no one would be calling me a racist at all, which proves I'm right.
The problem is the groups aren't exactly anologous. A person, for all intents and purposes, chooses to become a writer. Professions tend to have particular character traits that enables people to become successful in that field, so a valid generalization of individual occupations may be possible.
If you find a better example, then the argument has merit. However, as it stands, it doesn't really prove anything.
Actually, you aren't paying enough attention to the post that I'm responding to. I wrote the same thing they wrote replacing black with white, bad tipper with asshole. As for the second part it didn't matter what I used just as long as the group I mentioned wasn't a race because just like her "women dining alone with children" group, saying bad things about any group that wasn't a race would in fact not be racist.
