the owls are not what they seem

I've been watching Twin Peaks. Three or four episodes into season 2 so far. Strangest. Show. Ever. I don't think I've seen any David Lynch films, so this might be why I didn't realize the extent of the oddness I would be seeing. So weird. I'm not even sure how to explain it. It's like the acting will be deliberately off or odd in certain ( Read more... )

...this show seems like crack. Or perhaps LSD. Some kind of hallucinogen. Would you recommend it? I think I have Twin Peaks on streaming netflix.

FANFIC FLAMINGO IS SO MUCH TRUTH. Especially the "huge fandom, NO ONE WRITES YOUR OTP" bit.

Yes I would recommend it, actually! Here's a pimping post. The show swings between light/quirky and deeply disturbing. For the first few episodes, I kept watching because it was so weird, and my parents said it got weirder. (It does.) But then I ended up getting all draw in.

Apparently the show goes extremely downhill after Laura Palmer's killer is caught. My parents say they ended up quitting. But it's been a good ride so far!

That is one of the way, way too manythings I've been meaning to watch forever, and your "WHAT AM I WATCHING?" seems to be the general assessment. I did not know about Audrey Horne before! Although yeah, I've heard it gets terrible once the killer is caught.

Oh fanfic flamingo, it is all too true. This describes at least 90% of my comics knowledge.

It goes from "...this seems like an odd time for a funny scene" to "I'M GOING TO HAVE NIGHTMARES FOREVER". Very odd.

Me too! Oh, comics. This is why I tend towards stand-alone series.
