I've watched many episodes of many TV series five or more times. I picked this episode of SPN because it was the moment I fell in love with Supernatural. Because I started watching SPN when my other shows had gone into reruns the first two episodes I saw were Usual Suspects (Which I didn't get most of because I hadn't seen season one) and then Crossroad Blues. I was intrigued but not a fangirl ...yet. Then SPN went into reruns and they repeated the season 2 opener. And I was hooked!
I had no idea what had happened during the first season only that the Winchesters had been in this terrible accident and Dean was in danger of becoming a ghost. Jensen knocked it out of the park and that was the moment I became a Dean girl. I cried when John died - I had no idea what he'd put Sam and Dean through in the first season only that he loved Dean enough to sacrifice his own life and the boys were devastated by his death. I know there is a lot of John hate out there but I will always like him because he loved Dean enough to do what he did.
I must have watched this episode a dozen times while I waited to get my season one disks delivered and it is still one of my favorite episodes of the series. In fact I think I'm going to watch it right now!
