Awww. For some reason around the third paragraph or so I started playing host to the heart-thumping assumption that Sol was an undercover agent of the Hand, and that lent a bizarre cast to this for a while. :)

That... would've been pretty cool. Hee! (Alas, by the time the NaNo story rolls around, Fisher has gotten himself dead and Sol has turned into somebody's geeky supervisor.)

I loved the phrase "portable sunshine", and this:
Fisher loved them like family, would take the fall for them any day, would even fucking die for them if it ever came down to that. He just didn’t always like them.

Alas, I was just fooling around with a couple of the characters that really only make cameo appearances or get mentioned in the actual NaNo story. Which I'll start posting on here someday... ;-P
