That really sucks! I can't imagine that it would be prohibitively expensive to get the infrastructure into place and it would open up a big new market.
AT&T can't even provide us with internet, and they've been our phone company for years. When I asked them about it, they said they had no plans to bring internet to our area because it was too expensive and the profit margin would be too low. And AT&T doesn't even provide that great of internet service, according to my sister.
It would be a huge market, as long as it doesn't cost more than what a person has to pay for satellite and as long as it's unlimited. I know I'd pay.
We used to have AT&T internet. I'd say it sucked ass, but that would be an insult to all ass-suckers everywhere. It was the most unreliable internet service we ever had, and believe me, we've had some real losers!
We are lucky not to have bandwidth limits with the company we use but we have slow Internet that occasionally quits completely. Bandwidth limits scare me. My family would have a HUGE bill if we had limits.
Much sympathy and wishes for better Internet for all those that need it!
That's one thing I liked about dialup. You could use as much of it as you wanted. The only thing it did was tie up our phone line. But sometimes I think putting in an extra phone line and going back to dialup would be a good idea. I still have a computer that works with it.
