I may actually add on to this later. It's just... 2am and I'm brain-dead right now. But yeah, try some of these :)

I haven't read all of Suzanne Brockmann's books yet, but I randomly read the first book with Max and Gina, when the plane gets hijacked and he's the head of the rescue mission, and I fell completely in love with Max Bhagat!! Love him! So, of course, I read Gone too Far so I could see what happened next with Max and Gina (and by default Sam and Alyssa) and was ecstatic when Max and Gina got their own book with Breaking Point. Also, I'm not sure which book it was, but in one of them, Brockmann put an author's note about her son and how Jules was kind of based on her son and it was the sweetest, most beautiful author's note I've ever read and it made me cry. :)

I'm missing Tom, Stan, Cosmo, Ric, Jules, Vihn and Alyssa's books, but I'm actively looking for copies to grab on bookmooch.com. Or, actually, I own Vihn's book but haven't read it yet. I'm not the cookie-cutter type of romance reader - I seriously hate the "I luuuurve you" sort of thing where the oh-so-dramatic focus is on the romance itself. So, naturally, I fell very hard for this series, which is the farrrrthest thing from pure romance, lol.

In which book exactly are Max/Gina introduced with the hijacking itself?

I'll be adding more to this post when I have time. There's more to rec!

They were in Over the Edge together, which was the first book with them. It had the actual hijacking. When I read that book, they were only in it about 1/4 of the time, if that, but they were my favorite from the get-go. I went hunting for the next stage of their story, and luckily, Gone too Far was already out. Sadly, I had to wait a minute for Breaking Point, but it was worth it. :)

Oh, also, wow, I didn't know about Jules being based on her son! So that's why we have the first gay FBI agent in romance novels evar :)

Hehe I'll add some men-authors (lol sounds like minotaurs) in a bit ;) I swear I'm not some women-only type of reader!

Is that the same Karen Robards who (at least used to) writes Romance Novels as well. I'm pretty sure I read some of her stuff in high school.

The same thing with Elizabeth Lowell.

Yeah both of them used to write soft-core romance (Robards used to do historical romance too?). Now they've both moved on to romantic suspense :) Lowell is hardcorer than Robards in that sense, though. But yeah, there's still romance except it's a little grittier.

I forgot to specify some things that may or may not interest you.

Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed vamps sport tattoo-like markings. They kind of show a vamp's emotions like a mood ring does.

Karen Marie Moning's Highlander (starting with The Highlander's Touch) and Fever also has tats, though in this case they offer magical protection.

In my post last night there's also the Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter. These guys' tats are proof that they harbour demons within them.

Just sayin' ;)

*gulp*

Vampires with tattoos!?!?

*goes away quickly to add to my list at the library*

And I plan to read all Moning's stuff as soon as I need a new Scotland fix.

I shall also check out Lords of the Underworld.
