Books I am getting next week: ( list! )

I'm currently reading Stephen King's The Stand (and have been so for the past month or so, holy Christ on a toast this brick is long, more so since it's actually the new uncut version). Going to the CLSC (free clinic) to get some blood work done and to be given a vaccine and then learning you need to call the Youth service to make an appointment is not what I had in mind when I woke up early on my day off. So. mary1516 asked me to compile a list of HP fic favourites from when I was still active in HP fandom.

The first few will certainly make some old fans recoil in recollection, but I did start somewhere and these were it: ( excellent writing if you overlook... certain issues )

Okay. I just finished The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig. I thought I was going to hate it, based on the fact that it's a young adult novel (mooched it on a whim really), but it's a riot and I adored it. It's suspense, it's contemporary, it's historical, it's wonderfully hilarious at the best times, and it's a strong heroine ( Read more... )
