[Loe's been gone a couple weeks now. Most probably don't notice, but those who do are no doubt relieved by the lack of his abrasive presence

[Lilith watches the dog be a weirdo for a minute or three from the road, arms crossed, mouth puckered in thought. Her mind makes itself up and she whistles, trotting to it in hopping strides.]
[The dog huffs, watching Lilith approach. Once she's close it bends its head to sniff at her feet, walking around her in slow, snuffling circles.
Yes, Lilith, you could say he (HE, thank you) lost someone.
After a few moments of investigation, the dog decides Lilith is not a threat, and resumes its pacing. There's still no sign of anyone inside the fog coming out, and he's starting to get impatient.
Patting her belt to solidify the reassurance of having a shield where her godlike (if she does say so herself) powers are absent, she drops into a squat and tries to ignore how obnoxiously vocal the hound is. He's better looking and less hostile than a skag, and nicer to have around than the tagalong capybara at her heels.]
They can't have been all there if they walked out into that mess, know what I'm sayin'.
[Hooray for puppies! Except this isn't a puppy, Kobato! This is a huge black dog--the kind you might send against bears. It easily comes up to a grown man's waist.
It continues pacing, oblivious to her presence, occasionally growling at the fog.]
[Oh geez, too fast too fast! Involved as he was in investigating, he didn't notice Kobato coming up on him until she was already there. Surprised, the dog snarls at her briefly before realizing this little human is no threat to him and relaxing.]
[Kevas might not know much about dog behavior but he's pretty sure that's not normal. If it isn't for the fact that it's running into the fog and running back Kevas would ignore this. Seeing how it is though, Kevas keeps a hand close to his sword and decides to investigate.
Hopefully the dog doesn't attack him. He doesn't want to kill it if he doesn't have to.]
[Lucky you, Kevas, it isn't interested in attacking anybody. All the poor dog is interested in is finding its master, but apparently doing that involves going into the fog, and this is a cautious beast. It's been scolded before for going in there, and it doesn't feel like being scolded again.
Nose to the ground and sniffing, it looks up briefly as Kevas approaches, tail wagging slightly, and then returns to its investigations.]
[Swords? The dog huffs. It knows what those are. Loe never uses them, but it recognizes the weapon.
Why yes, Kevas, it wants to take a look. But it also knows it was told to stay here. The poor thing is torn between two desires: to obey its master and to find its master. Very difficult for a dog to deal with.]
[WHAT HO. A giant dog you say! Why this seems absurdly familiar! It... probably isn't a mabari war dog, but hey. A big dog is a big dog. And acting strangely, too!
The assassin pauses, and then slowly begins to approach, looking out at the fog. He has no doubt the dog probably heard him, but best to act casual, and not a threat.]
I take it there is something more interesting afoot than a rogue rabbit in the bushes, yes?
[Oh, Zevran, it's terrible, just terrible! See, his master went into the fog with one of the other dogs and told him to stay here, but they haven't come out yet and he's worried and also hungry and hey.
Hey, you smell interesting. What is that smell even. The dog growls faintly, sniffing at Zevran's feet.]
[He takes a step back, away from those big jaws. And he holds up his hands, to look placating. Who knows if it would work on a dog, but it can't hurt.]
Oh-ho-no. I think not. Not those boots, my drooling friend. Not those.
