I got sucked to a black hole for what most remember me for. Somewhat anticlimactic, but I got remembered for it.

That must have been quite an experience.

The addiction. [GAWD, HARPER.] What am I supposed to do? How can I do anything with it eating away at me?

Private deusexmechanic December 11 2010, 19:37:23 UTC
Right. [YEAH, BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT'S HORRIBLY WRONG FOR YOU.] Okay, the last few weeks... I've not really been... look, I know I said all that stuff about tackling this together and then I... shut myself in my room and chewed the walls for two weeks straight, but okay, I'm not gonna flake out on you any more.

I think... maybe we should think about talking to other people who've been through things like this, to see if anyone could give you some advice on how to handle addictions. We'll do things to get your mind off it, focus on... projects, and meeting people, and just making yourself do stuff that has nothing to do with it.

[Pauuuuuse]

Have you been seeing a lot of Armand? [You're allowed too, Rex, but he has a concern about it :c]

[OBVIOUSLY.]

I don't want to talk to other people about this. It's bad enough that you know, and... Too many people are asking questions already.

[PAUSEEEEE. Then, so reluctant:]

Yes.

Thanks.

...

Kirk is literally camping out in my room right now. I probably won't have any real privacy until Tuesday.

It's so inconvenient when they suddenly develop a work ethic. I'll check back with you on Tuesday.

Private - LOL THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR. Although most of the time, it's "AWH BOO IT FAILED. :CCCCC" whattasteisthis December 11 2010, 19:26:20 UTC
[Armand isn't quite sure how to reply to that.]

Are you feeling any... adverse effects of the blood?

Re: Private - LOLOL YES stopthat_destro December 11 2010, 19:28:38 UTC
Something akin to a hangover... a feeling of loss...

[He pauses, then shakes that thought away.]

I don't enjoy making a spectacle of myself. I was... behaving like a needy child.

Re: Private - It especially sucks when you've had like an 8-week study end like that. whattasteisthis December 11 2010, 19:30:44 UTC
You were under the effects of the flood. [YEAH, that doesn't explain everything but Armand's going with it.]

Nevertheless, it's over. Thank you for tolerating my moodiness.

Relief is not the right word for it. Sheer terror, followed by beauty you could never again experience. I don't know if there is a word appropriate for the resulting emotion.

SERIOUSLY. stopthat_destro December 11 2010, 19:33:13 UTC
I don't think there is. Sadly, we work with the limitations of the language the best we can.

The beauty makes it all worth it, doesn't it?

That's what we always hope for. That something is worth it. The journey...the result...something that makes it all seem like we didn't just waste our lives.

Exactly. Setback though the Barge may be, I'm... comforted by the fact that my work wasn't in vain.
