I thought I recognized that storyline (Silence) when I saw it mentioned somewhere as a plagiarized story. Never did get around to seeking it out, though. I remember reading it on the hc site *ages* ago. It was one of the first SG-1 stories I ever read. ;-)

What an idiot. *sigh* I never will understand why someone would try and claim another's story as their own.

Plagiarised fic

Hi,

'Watchman' is most definitely word for word 'Guard', which I wrote for SG1 fandom back in about 2000. I think it own an award of some sort ages ago in the SG fanfic awards.

The funniest part of it all is that it was apparently 'betaed'. Bwah! I guess they checked that the creep who was ripping the story off changed the name Daniel to Ianto.

I'm going to have to say something now.

I was one of the people that beta'd WPB work - I think I possibly did 'Watchman', but to point out - I'm 16 years old, I'm not in SG fandom, only TW and DW (look at my journal) so how would I know that this was plagerised. She was good at what she did - apparantly, there is a lot of stories plagerised, and what I beta'd was grammer/spelling - no names and such.

So please, do not diss the beta's cos this is not mine (or anybody elses) fault - if WPB decided to plagerise, what has that got to do with the betas who are there to beta the work not have to read through it to make sure it hasn't been plagerised from a fandom they don not even follow

Sorry this turned into rant, but this has p****ed me off no end.
