[When France'd spied America curled up over his Guide with a plate of unidentifiable mess, he'd assumed that the other nation was either looking up what exactly that horrendous misshapen blob was, or checking its nutritional contents to see if it wasn't poisonous. Either way, the scene'd been innocuous enough-- a nation and his food, however broadly that term may be used.

And really, he hasn't talked to America in a bit. There really should be no harm in giving the other nation a friendly hello, especially since the holidays are coming up, and...

...well, we all know how enthusiastic America can get about those.

So when his amiable sort of meddling is met with a fist, France's immediate reaction is to THROW HIS HANDS UP IN THE AIR (what was that about surrenders, France?) and take a step back.]

Wh-- c, calm down, oh Mon Dieu, my heart...!!

[He has to take a moment to let himself calm down (because seriously, America, you almost broke France's eardrums there)-- but once everything falls back into place, he sighs and moves to pull up a chair next to the other nation.]

What, is Brother France not allowed to be out for a walk? I was just in the 'neighborhood' when I happened to see a familiar silhouette.

[Because he can totally do that.]

Next time, try not to rupture my ears with your greetings, s'il vous plait.

[Canada is despondently wandering the shopping district, trying to think of what to get everyone for Christmas.
He's so stuck... Especially seeing as Jasmine would be getting two gifts-

Sighing, he crouches down to look at a shelf of nice little bags. The designs are cu---

*BAM-*

Canada's forehead hits the shelf as someone hugs him suddenly from behind.]

Maple-!

[France hadn't exactly expected Canada to stumble (but then again, he should have seen that coming), and so he also teeters on his feet when the other nation does, trying his best not to lose balance so that this whole thing doesn't suddenly

turn into shelf-toppling disasters.]

Ah... surprise?

Sorry- [Standing up straight he blinks, rubbing at his forehead.]
Ah, France? H-hello.

Bonjour, Canada.

[He straightens up and gets off of Canada, brushing his hair back with a sigh. The moment has thoroughly been ruined...!!]

Out for a bit of shopping?

[Miku was currently about the ship, admiring all the decorations aboard this ship. She had always enjoyed Chrismas time, It was so wonderful. Even if this was the first year she would be apart from her family for it. At least cute little Mieu had said she could spend Christmas with him, so she would not be totally alone. But it had occured to her, why had she not made more of an effort to get to know people yet?

She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to see the man ]
Oh, hello!

Bonjour, petite mademoiselle.

[The smile he flashes Miku's way is one of his relaxed, friendly smiles-- one that has no strings in particular attached, and one that's mostly a reflection of wanting to share some conversation.]

Admiring the decorations?

" Why, yes I am! They are all very lovely. " [She gave a smile back ] "You speak French?"

Aren't they? I've always enjoyed the holidays.

[He seems to look amused by the question (he gets this a lot, or, well, he gets this a lot on the Thor), and replies with a casual:]

I do. You can call me Brother France.

[Amaterasu's currently enjoying the park and watching the kids play. Seems like her pups and the alien children get along fine... it has them distracted enough for her to work on the lesson plans for her College lectures. Maybe she should do a lesson on constellations and astrology...]

[She blinks at the tap and looks up.]

Oh, hello.

[He takes a step to the back when she turns, giving her some space so that she doesn't bump into him-- that'd be awkward, and first encounters, in his opinion, should only be awkward if it's a chance of fate.

He glances at her, and then her lesson plans, and then gives her a cant of the head accompanied by a friendly curl of the lips.]

I hope I haven't interrupted anything, mademoiselle.

Oh, not really. I'm almost done and the children are still playing.

[Her ears flick. Mademoiselle hm? She slips the papers into her sleeve, putting them out of mind. It was rude to work when there was company.]

[He hadn't had anything in mind when he'd talked to her-- she'd just caught his eye, and so there's a polite break in conversation as he just looks at her, all smiles. But a moment later, he makes his way next to her, motioning towards the adjacent seat.]

May I?

[He's not entirely without tact, after all, but he glances at the so-called 'children'... they all look like aliens and puppies to him, hmm.]

Do you like animals?

[Oh good lord, what is that Gardevoir doing and why does it look so mad at him...!

France hadn't anticipated the sudden...hostility from something that looks like a very displeased alien (better not say that to her face, France), and he keeps his hands up in that universal sign of I concede, whatever I did.]

B...bonjour...

Ah, right-- I keep forgetting that people aren't necessarily from my world.

[Meaning he's never seen a real Pokemon before, and the only Pokemon that he knows are the obvious ones that were popular in his world... he's not a big games person.

He looks back and forth between the Gardevoir and its trainer.]

Strange, though! Brother France didn't mean any harm.
