[She blinks at the tap and looks up.]
Oh, hello.

He glances at her, and then her lesson plans, and then gives her a cant of the head accompanied by a friendly curl of the lips.]
I hope I haven't interrupted anything, mademoiselle.

[Her ears flick. Mademoiselle hm? She slips the papers into her sleeve, putting them out of mind. It was rude to work when there was company.]

May I?
[He's not entirely without tact, after all, but he glances at the so-called 'children'... they all look like aliens and puppies to him, hmm.]
Do you like animals?
Reply
[Children are children to her, but if you want to call them animals]
I do. What about yourself?

[A pause as he watches the kids playing.]
I've ridden, and I've kept cats before. Dogs less frequently.

[Here comes one now, but it looks more like an adolescent wolf.]
Ah...

A dog person, are you? And wolves, too...

[The black wolf wags its tail and somewhat glances over at France. Who has the attention now?] Be nice, Hayabusa.

[He figures that it's harmless, since she seems so comfortable with it-- and he reaches out to touch the wolf, feeling a bit daring as he does so.]
I've never been this close to a wolf before, I have to admit.

[She continues petting Hayabusa. The black wolf looks at France, but Mama said to be nice... fiiine. As long as she keeps scratching him behind the ears like that...]

Maybe, but I am his mother too. [Her ears flick]
Reply
...yeah, he's on a spaceship, there are all kinds here. He doesn't want to be rude.]
Ah...right! Adopted, is he?
Reply
[She continues scratching Hayabusa behind the ear. She pauses after a moment though, and for good reason. Hayabusa begins to scratch his neck with his hind leg.]
