Having mirrors installed on every vertical plane in your apartment becomes an interesting experience when your dog has never seen herself in one. I've noted on more than one occasion that mythology can be the greatest refuge for the supernatural and it's most effective tool. I can't think of a single myth that is completely accurate or useful in my world.
