Ron had flown off earlier and Harry was in his room, which left Hermione rather bored. It had been a nice morning, though, with breakfast, interesting conversation, and staying busy. She approved of Kingsley, which was a relief considering they'd hired him. She had no idea how he felt about them, of course, but she could certainly see counting him amongst her few friends in time.

Her book wasn't catching her attention, and she was just sore enough from some of the work earlier to not feel like doing much of anything productive. It was still a lovely day out, so she decided that a walk might be nice. Walking gave her time to think, and, right now, she'd been thinking a lot about her bookstore idea.

She got her coat, called upstairs to let Harry know she was going out for a walk, and then walked outside. She hadn't left their property before she noticed Viktor walking with a little girl that had to be his daughter. She stopped on the sidewalk and watched them, curious to see if he was, indeed, heading towards her house like it

Hermione was outside as they approached, and Viktor waved. "Maire, you can wave?"

She looked up at him, and he pointed.

"Is that Her-my-no-mee?"

He pressed his lips together and didn't correct her, because she'd get it soon enough, right? "Yes." She lifted her hand to wave, too.

They got a bit closer and Viktor stopped at the gate. "Maire and I are think, we walk, and look for the Quidditch. Then, I think, perhaps Hermione is like to go. Yes?" He paused. "This Maire, I think you are guess. Maire, this Hermione."

"The Quidditch match? Ron took off for there just a little while ago," she said. Did she want to go to a crowded gathering centering around Quidditch? Well, the answer was no, of course, but the alternative was sitting alone with a book unless Harry felt social. She found herself nodding. "That sounds like...well, not fun, but interesting."

She looked down at the child and studied her. There wasn't a lot of Viktor evident in her features, but she could see it around the eyes, maybe. "Hello, Maire," she said simply, not sure how one was supposed to talk to children.

"Da says yer Hernominee." Maire frowned. "Her. I canna say it. You need a shorter name."

Viktor cringed, but didn't follow the impulse to clap his free hand to his forehead, instead suggesting, "Maire. Hermione is fine name. You are have long name in center, with short names next to." He looked up at Hermione. "I am fear, she is get from me, instead of hair or nose, bad skill with new name."

"He said, 'tis a game in t'air, flyin'," Marie announced, swinging her hand back and forth in Viktor's. "Have ye seen it?"

"I am think, Hermione has seen, one time or two," Viktor said. "Come with, then? Today, we are learn many thing."
