After nodding politely to Cedric, Percy steered Morag away so that he could talk to her and try to relax. "How's my darling girl?" he asked, kissing her again, still a little stiff and discomfited. "I didn't leave you on your own for too long, I hope."

He glanced around as though the paintings were surveying him. A few of them he'd seen before, or seen reproductions of, and they were less unsettling, by virtue of familiarity. The others, he resolutely ignored until he was better composed to judge them on their merits rather than on his atavistic reaction to the mural, which had left him thinking about nothing so much as how badly his leg ached.

Morag smiled, squeezing Percy's hand. "I'm just perfect, now that you're here," she replied. "And I just arrived, not fifteen minutes ago."

"How are you?" she asked after a moment, not sure how he'd respond. They'd never talked much about the war or the attack on the Ministry, although Morag knew his memories were probably far worse than hers - she was one of the lucky ones that day.

"If you don't want to stay long, we don't have to," she whispered, leaning close. She would love to meet Lucretia Diggory, but if Percy was uncomfortable, they'd leave. It'd be rather cruel to keep him, otherwise, she thought.

"Fine. Tired," he said, rubbing at his eyes. Then he paused, looking down at Morag, and a curious peace spread over him. It was safe to talk about these things, with her. "A bit blindsided by that mural. It's no Guernica, but it certainly does bring back some rather unpleasant memories." He reached out, twisting one of her curls around his finger.

"And we can stay a bit. After all, we've had the conversation on literary tastes, but I've still no idea what art you like, which I ought to know if I should wish to make you a present. And you'll want to meet the great woman, of course," he teased.

Morag rubbed his arm sympathetically. "You've been working too hard," she chided gently, knowing that wouldn't change a thing. "One of these days, I'm going to kidnap you and sit on you so you can't do any work all day," she teased softly, sobering when he mentioned the mural.

"I know," she replied, more quiet, although part of her was pleased to have Percy so affectionate. "I - I appreciate the art in it, but...," she trailed off. "I don't think I was ready to see it."

She smiled at Percy's teasing. "No presents," she protested. "And I would like to meet her. She's got amazing raw talent, even if I'm not fond of the subject matter," Morag added.

Having mingled, chatted and otherwise collected information, it became rather clear to Rita that she wasn't the only one whose reaction to the mural had been less than positive. A few people seemed open-minded - seemed to think it was in good spirit and that the message was important - but others said it was far too soon, and seemed quite shaken by seeing it.

Rita wasn't sure. She was no art expert, really. She could understand where some people were coming from, but too soon seemed it. And perhaps disrespectful. It was certainly a controversial piece, which may have been what the artist was going for. It seem in poor taste, though, especially with her son as the curator.

She decided she needed to speak to Miss Ma... Mrs Diggory. It would make an interesting article, certainly. Especially if people didn't agree.

She approached, quill in hand. "Mrs Diggory, may I have a word?"

Lucy had been aware of Rita Skeeter's arrival, and doubted she was there just for the art. Lucy remembered all too well the other woman's articles, including those penned during the Triwizard Tournament. While not quite as rabid in her hostility towards Skeeter as Amos had been, Lucy's resentments lasted longer. Cedric had sent her copies of the new Daily Prophet, so Lucy was not unaware that Skeeter's tone had changed somewhat.

She still didn't trust the woman.

When Skeeter finally approached her, asking for a word, Lucy's eyebrow went up. "It might depend on the nature of the discussion. Are you asking as a private individual, or asking for an professional interview?"
