Summary: The reception for Lucy at the museum; a chance to meet a real, live painter.
Completion: Incomplete

Cedric had no idea who might attend. He'd made certain that both public announcements and private invitations had gone out. Today, the museum was completely open to the public -- no entrance fee.

Instead, on the third floor, all his mother's recovered paintings were on display, in addition to "Ragnarök." A very few had been recovered in full. Most had been recovered in part. But one or two were completely destroyed. They were also on display. He wasn't pulling punches here.

There was also food -- cheese and fruit and wine. Normally, the idea of food and painting unnerved him, but he doubted this the sort of reception to have children running wild. The food, at least, was in the back hallway with the offices, so not immediately near the artwork.

Down in the entrance foyer the beginnings of the mural were taking shape. One could see on the blank wall the pencil-sketch of the planned image, and a cartoon of it as well, which moved as the final would move. It was about the war. And Cedric was both surprised and unsurprised. His mother liked her myths, and what greater modern myth was there than Voldemort versus Harry Potter? Or in her case, the destruction caused. Nonetheless, it made him wince.

In any case, he, his mother, and Katie arrived about 3:30, and set about uncovering the food. The reception was very informal. Visitors could arrive as they pleased. The museum opened at 4pm, and would stay open till 6:30pm. Cedric brought out a spelled sign that would direct people upstairs.
