Thanks to everyone who commented on the smile meme! You all brought me much delight and joy this week, and it was really needed.

Further to that, some awesome things of awesome:

Joss Whedon wrote an Internet musical during the writers' strike. It's called Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and it stars Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and ( Read more... )

Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? That has got to be one of the best titles I've ever seen.

I can't wait to see that.

And I keep forgeting about Dollhouse but I'm so excited by it every time I remember.

That has got to be one of the most cracked out advert I've ever seen and I love it.

Can't wait to see what you and scarletts_awry come up with.

And hi, I haven't commented for what seems like ages, mostly because I'm crap.

Doctor Horrible is going to be fab. I can't wait. Plus NPH can sing, and has charisma to spare. And Dollhouse! Yes. I keep forgetting about that, too, but I'm really looking forward to it.

That commercial is so very wrong in such a good way. I love the beaver sitting on a stack of magazines at the beauty parlor.

scarletts_awry and I are plotting total crack. Srsly. Crack.

And hi! Very glad to see you commenting again.

I am all for crack AUs. Well, crackfic in general. (ask me about crackverse sometime. On second thought, don't.)

Hmm...*contemplates*

Oh, you can't just toss that out there and then leave it. Do tell me about crackverse.

And crack AUs really are fun. Actually, the scary thing about BSI is how much sense it ends up making when we work through all the possibilities and backstory. But it's still crack. And the others are even more so.

*g* Crackverse. is. um. I've been writing it with sandersyager for about a year and a half now. It involves CSI:LV, CSI:NY, NCIS, Heroes (both RPS and the show), and an entire cast of OCs. Our main cast at this point has dozens of people, not including the secondary characters. It's insane, and it's quasi-AU and wholly cracktastic.

hm. What about...oh, I can think of a few for CSI:NY, but you know...what would steampunk!CSI:NY look like?

Crackverse sounds utterly fantastic, and insane in all the best ways. It also sounds like it's a *lot* of fun.

Ohh. Steampunk!CSI:NY. That's a *great* idea. I mean, with the science and the gadgets, and translating all of that into a steampunk setting, that's just...yeah. I love that. I'm imagining now how well it would work.

Plus, then I'd get to dress them all in steampunk fashion. [/is shallow]

I am HIGHLY AMUSED both by the musical and the commercial.

I don't see how it's my fault that you are so susceptible to suggestion and corruption. *halo*

Possibly we're both a little overly caffeinated.

I'm not there yet. But I suspect I might be before the day is over.

The commercial is a riot. My favorite part is the beaver sitting on the little stack of magazines in the beauty parlor. And I can't *wait* for Doctor Horrible.

Dude, it's so your fault. I'm not normally that suggestible, but you just know how to corrupt me. Because, as I said, you're MEAN. I wouldn't be coming up with all these crazy-ass AUs otherwise.

...I've already had an entire venti latte. I am GOOD TO GO.

Well, y'know, I just stay up late every night scheming up ways to corrupt you further. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

I swear, I've got so much I want to get done today that I don't know where to start. I wish I hadn't slept in.

Well, y'know, I just stay up late every night scheming up ways to corrupt you further.

...I KNEW it. It's all a conspiracy.

Srsly, though, AUs are fun, and it does bring up interesting questions like what goes into writing a good AU that *works*.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I really, really hope we get out early today. It's not like anyone *else* is at work, hardly.

Band AU. I'm all for that! Man, the sheer quality you'd bring to such a cliche...

Between you two, I'm going to have plenty to read, I can tell. (Must remember to comment, too!)

What else is on the crack!AU plate? Mad scientist!Mac with lab-assistant-with-tentacles!Danny?

And Flack and Stella could work together to see if the mad scientist is trying to take over the world and-

I'd better stop there. :D

The band AU is total and complete crack. And yet highly entertaining at the same time! It's even more of a challenge to try to figure out who all of them would be and how they'd fit into the picture in something that's so far removed from their everyday setting.

But we do have lots and lots of good stuff planned that we're hoping to write.

OMG, I love the idea of mad-scientist!Mac. And Danny with tentacles. Hee. That image is...all too amusing and horrifying. Poor Danny never has anything go right for him.

Hurrah! Oh man, this is going to be fun to see. :)

Nope. *grins; giggles* And Lindsay could be the secret!agent! trying to stop Mac from taking over the world, as she mistakenly believes he is....

My dad told me about that tampon ad, and I frankly find it quite awesome. Get to know your beaver! It's a sentiment that clearly even the guys are getting behind, if the commercial is any indicator.

It is cute. It really is. Wrong and cute. <3

And, you know, you only get *one* beaver, so you should take care of it and treat it well. It really is quite the awesome ad.

Wrong and cute, totally. Two of my favorite complementary attributes.
