And crack AUs really are fun. Actually, the scary thing about BSI is how much sense it ends up making when we work through all the possibilities and backstory. But it's still crack. And the others are even more so.

*g* Crackverse. is. um. I've been writing it with sandersyager for about a year and a half now. It involves CSI:LV, CSI:NY, NCIS, Heroes (both RPS and the show), and an entire cast of OCs. Our main cast at this point has dozens of people, not including the secondary characters. It's insane, and it's quasi-AU and wholly cracktastic.

hm. What about...oh, I can think of a few for CSI:NY, but you know...what would steampunk!CSI:NY look like?

Crackverse sounds utterly fantastic, and insane in all the best ways. It also sounds like it's a *lot* of fun.

Ohh. Steampunk!CSI:NY. That's a *great* idea. I mean, with the science and the gadgets, and translating all of that into a steampunk setting, that's just...yeah. I love that. I'm imagining now how well it would work.

Plus, then I'd get to dress them all in steampunk fashion. [/is shallow]

There is nothing wrong with dressing them in steampunk fashion. Stella in those dresses...*brain goes to happy place*

Oh, man. I don't know enough about steampunk to know how it would work, but it'd be so cool.

There are always other cracktastic AU standards, of course--there's genderswitch, and superheroes, etc...I think my favorite ever crackfic was SGA and had Rodney as a unicorn and John as a rainbow.
