From the Maker Faire, please note the mini tophat I made from scratch! All items are handmade and hand=draped, except for the tailcoat which I did use a pattern for.
(jaw drops!) Please oh pretty please, let the old Prof (and yeah, the others!) know where or what the pattern is!!! That's a beautiful, beautiful piece of the knitter's art!
I love the top half (and the bottom half, but the top more) of your outfit! You made the hat? That's so rad! Do you have a tutorial on such a feat? I've always wanted to make my own li'l hats :)
The bottom half makes me look huge, I pinned it up with a hangover and without a mirror :) As for the hat, it was a lot of ideas whacked into one. I looked at a LOT of millinery books from the library, and then made a pattern that happened to work. It was a lot of time, and it's a handmade wire framed buckram, and it took making a couple of other hats first. There's some hatmaking journals on LJ I believe. I freaking love my mini tophat!
It is definitely adorable! So no milliner's block for you? I hear those things are mad expensive. I have a friend who carves, so I might try to schmooze one out of him ;)
