Perhaps this is a silly question . . .

How are military gaiters sized? If, for example, I were to buy a pair on eBay marked "Size 3" would they fit me? Is there a sizing chart for these things somewhere?

help, gaiters

That probably means men's shoe size 3, which would be a women's 5.

That seems awfully small, especially for a Marine. . .

I wore a size 5 combat boot when I was contemplating joining the Marines. :)

I should point out that I had to try on a size 3 because at that time they did not differentiate between men's and women's sizes.

I would just email the seller and ask for measurements honestly

The legging or spat size has nothing to do with shoe sizes.

I know the WWII Army leggings I use are a 2. I've only seen them come in sizes 1, 2, or 3. 1 is the smallest for skinny legs. 2 fit me well and my legs are fairly average as far as width...for army leggings the largest size was 4. But I've never seen a pair in that size.

3 is a pretty safe bet unless you have very thick ankles or very muscular lower calves.

NB the USMC and Navy had a greater variety of sizes from 1-8.
