Simplicity 2172

Oct 02, 2011 15:49

For Dragon*Con this year I made the ever so popular Simplicity 2172 outfit. The wine color of the dress on the package happens to be my favorite color to wear so my first dress off this pattern (because I plan on making more one day) looks very, very similar to it.

This looks wonderful! You did a great job!
Thanks for the tip about the sleeve length; I'm making this now, and that is good to know.

You might want to make a sleeve out of scrap material first to get the length right and check to see if you like the width. I noticed that when I was about to put the long sleeves on to the coat that they are so narrow in places that you can't raise your arm very high.

And thanks! :)

The dress looks great! And that color is spectacular on you.

I don't suppose you'd share your fingerless glove pattern? I work in an office where it gets really cold in the winter, and that looks like just what I need!

Thank you. :)

I wish I could share the pattern, but the designer has taken it down. She plans on rewriting it and selling it. They really are nice though, so if you really like them, it would be a worth while pattern to buy when she has it ready. They are called "Afternoon Tea Fingerless Gloves" by Dora Ohrenstein from her site, http://www.crochetinsider.com/

Thanks! I will keep an eye on her website so I can buy the pattern when she posts it!

Now I just need to learn to crochet... ;)
