OK, now we need someone to fabricate a girdle [that is, in the original sense, a belt] with machinery to have movable hour/minute hands which actually keep time with the hem numerals....

This is a great idea, but in my opinion, a poor execution.

The skirt could probably be improved by a good pressing, and possibly the bodice too. Shiny fabrics are so unforgiving.

I think this calls for steaming rather than pressing, especially being so old. But yeah, it needs de-wrinkling.

Well, I wrote that before it came to light that it was vintage. It's still not being displayed to it's best advantage.

I really love the idea, but I think it would have been better in different fabrics, especially for the top it doesn't seem to work. But I did enjoy seeing it, thank you for sharing! :)

I looks like a Melies costume, I thought it might be from Cendrillion, but didn't see it there. Pressed and twirling around on a ballerina, it'd look just fine on old film. I don't think this is something anyone wore to any parties, unless they'd gotten their hands on grandma's old showgirl duds.

My first thought was not steampunk, but dance recital. "Rock Around the Clock" maybe. It would be cute for that.
