That is so pretty!

I think if you found something high-necked with a simple mandarin collar, it could work. Just that's just my opinion. ^^

Unfortunately, I am not signed up for ravelry, so I'm not sure which pattern you've linked to, but it is very possibly the pattern she used.

And yes, it is knit, but since I crochet I always have to remind myself that not everything done with yarn is done with a hook. It takes some editing sometimes.

This is the most gorgeous thing ever! I wish I had a friend who made me silk knit neckpieces... I think it would look wonderful under a jacket.

It wear your collar with a plain, dark colored jewel-neck top and small, demure earrings so as not to detract from how amazingly gorgeous it is.

Oooooo! the Edwardian Collar/Scarflette by Zehava Jacobs. Very pretty. I made one for myself last year but I have the same problem, I don't know how to wear it.

Do you have a shrug? Or armwarmers? That may allow you to go sleeveless without being so cold. I'm in Canada too and am sick of the cold now. I'm glad it's almost march :)

I have this great flowy skirt that doubles as a fantastic strapless dress that I think would work really well with it, and the same with an off the shoulder black top, but both are fancy and cold.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to wear this neckpiece which still shows it off to advantage, but also works with a look which is bit rough around the edges. I have a couple of tops which might work when paired with fingerless gloves, but I may end up having to either do a fancier look than I was planning, or saving it for later.

Our lives are so hard. We have to try on different outfits for our beautiful knit collars. ;)
