What type of fabric is the shirt? Cotton? Poly-cotton blend? Polyester?

It's 100% cotton.

Most mechanical lubricants are ok on the face as long as they are removed with whatever cleanzer you normally use. That said, don't use grease on your face.

Go to one of the many Halloween costume places still open and get black greasepaint/stage makeup. It'll come in a little round thingy, cost about $5 or less and last you about three million years. Lots less messy, better for both skin and clothes, and it'll look like you want it to (artistic-greasemonkey-ness rather than I-haven't-washed-my-face-ness)

Sorry, I forgot that grease doesn't equal mechanical lubricant, lol. It's just want I've always called it!! XD

That's actually a really good idea!! I forgot there would still be some Halloween stores open.

Sounds to me like you are on the right track! Is there a shop nearby that sells theatrical supplies? I mean the type of special effects make-up that actors use, not the cheapo/crappo halloween costume make-up.

Thanks!

Unfortuneately, I live in a real small town and don't really have access to an actual shop. But I do remember my theatre teacher buying stuff from the Ben Nye website (the makeup people, not the science guy!!). So I could try them.

Black grease make-up. Skin-safe and you can probably find some cheap on a Halloween clearance rack right now.
