Crochet Gears

I was pretty certain that this pattern or at the very least this website has been posted here before, but when I went through the tags and a cursory search of the archives I did not find it. My apologies if this is an ad nauseum posting. :0)

Rummaging about the forums on Ravelry today I found this:

knitting, crochet

Oh that's a cool pattern. It's been a few years since I've crocheted, but I might pull the hooks out for that. Thanks for pointing to it!

That's a wonderful pattern. I would love to make a shawl out of crocheted cogs...

I'm a knitter at heart though. Right now I'm throwing together an patchwork afghan knitted out of different sepia toned yarns. I thought it would let me practice different stitches.

Sampler afghans always seem to go much quicker too, because each square is different you have less opportunity to get bored half way through. Post pictures when you are done? Its nice to see other hand work. :0)

Absolutely! Though with me, even scarves end up taking forever and a day...

By the way, I forgot to mention it before but I absolutely love your username.

Very cool! I love it. I haven't crocheted in ages, but I'm going to try it. :)

Thank you for posting it!

I knit and spin (probably badly, still teaching self), but don't crochet. That pattern makes me want to learn...

My craftiness tends to come and go like a cat, and at the moment I have several in-progress projects, but none I'm working on actively just now.

So cool! Thanks for sharing! Right now I've got some experimental pieces on my loom (it's fixed heddle so I'm experimenting with patterns), some regular ole plain cheap roving on my wheel and spindle for practice and eventual dying (no project in mind except maybe a bath rug), and I just ripped out a shrug as my recent knitting project. I don't know if I'm going to re-knit it or head on to some dark purple knee-high socks. I'm not sure what to crochet as I'm just learning. I don't tat, but I do needlepoint and I'm working on a village scene for my MIL for Christmas and a binary bookmark for a friend for his birthday, and some Arabesque Venetian blackwork for a camicha.

you're welcome! I saw it and immediately thought of this group.

Spinning is also something I have picked up the past couple of years. I was gifted a spindolyn last year and a Babe electric spinning wheel this year and have been having fun with both. I'm just now getting to the point I should be doing something with all the singles I have lying around the house in wooly piles.

I've also been searching out blackwork patterns of wheat for the cuffs and collar of a chemise. Too many hobbies, not enough time.
