Terribly realistic and just a bit sad. He tried, because he cares. Maybe next time he would give her a better gift. Or maybe just a card and a kiss.

I think next year Connor will be slightly more restrained - only five or six presents! And perhaps Abby will come up with a slightly bigger card and maybe a small gift for him. (Or else their relationship will be a in terrible state and no cards at all!)
