Seeing that shiny face of ours shows that the fitness is paying off.that ain't shine, it's glow! Long time reader and its amazing to see how you've changed, grown and accomplish so much. I need to start documenting on my lj more RL stuff and less fandom stuff.
Aw, thanks man! We've been LJ friends for like, forever right?? I've really enjoyed watching you grow and change over the years too. Thanks for reading and yoroshiku onegai shimasu!! <3
There certainly were not! It's funny because when I came home I checked Mice Chat (a Disney Park forum) and they were talking about the lack of balloons too. I hadn't realized they were gone, but looking back, they definitely were not selling them there yesterday. Yikes. Who knew that we could run out of helium?!
I know, right? Crazy. I would never have thought of it.
But, it seems it's a pretty serious problem, actually. It's not something that can be made easily, since it doesn't form compounds, and so can't be gained by shocking apart more common materials (like the way we can make hydrogen and oxygen by taking apart water)... And it's so rare that for a long time, scientists didn't know that we had any on Earth. This is why it's called Helium, after Helios, since apparently, somehow, scientists figured out pretty early (in the 17th or 18th century or something) that helium could be found in the sun.
Laws in the US are keeping the price of helium pretty low (unlike in Japan, where it's allowed to go up and up based on decreasing supply), which is actually only contributing further to the problem, by allowing people to continue using it up cheaply.
I wonder which we'll run out of first, helium, or tuna?
I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience as TDL. :( Last time my husband and I went to TDS it was extremely empty, on the first day of Disney Christmas. We usually check this page before going, sometimes it matches up, sometimes it doesn't, but it has an overview for 休止アトラクション too. We decided we'd only go to TDL again next year, preferrably when the new Star Tours is open.
I read that every month since sometime last year, TDL has a record breaking number of people attending the park. I'm not sure why, just lots and lots of people going there this year.
I know how much you look forward to it. I'm sorry the weather sucked. :/

It's ok... we learned some valuable lessons that day. Namely, no more going on rainy days!

Do you think you'll ever make it to Japan to visit our Disney parks? You have to at least see DisneySea before you die, I think. ;)
