[ It's about 8am right now, and if Tyr's messy hair is any indication, he's just waking up. He looks at the device with bleary eyes. ]

What is this doing on? [ He mumbles, then continues...without moving his lips: ] It can't have been broadcasting the inside of my drawer since Saturday...

[ He leaves it on a little while longer as he looks

[When she first gets the message without having seen Tyr's post first, Rita's mostly just wondering why he's telling her that he's going back to bed. Unless he's gotten sick, too, and is just pretending everything's normal....]

I'm coming over.

[stargathering]

[ He'd tell Rita that she means a lot to him any time even if he'll never tell her his more confusing feelings. When she mentions the hat, though, his thoughts are back on that.

Glancing down at it, he smiles. ]

Yeah... It's pretty nice. Did you go out and buy it just now?

[ At this early hour? ]

Good.

[She tries to focus more on the words actually coming out of his mouth, anyway. And that gets a bit of a smile out of her.]

Yeah, I did. So--you'd better wear it, too.

[stargathering]

She has a nice smile...

I will. You're wearing the coat I gave you, too, so it's only fair...

I need one anyway.

[blastiafreak]

[--So much for concentrating on what he's saying. Face red, a little distracted, she responds.]

G-good. I mean, I wear it because I like it. And...

[And she turns to face him again, though her gaze is a little off to the side. If he's going to be thinking all of these things about her, she's not going to just ignore them.]

...I like it when you smile, too.

[stargathering]

[ ...And even if that's not really a bad thing to think, it's not something he'd honestly tell her. He's embarrassed to have her say that. His smile drops as he bites his lower lip. ]

...I'm glad you like it. Both...

-This is wrong.

Anyway, I need to get cleaned up, so...

[ And he tries not to think of anything as he says that. ]

[She's conflicted about his reaction--disappointed? Guilty? Her unwillingness to deal with those means it gets channelled into irritation instead.]

What's so-

[She bites her response back. If there's one thing that's wrong, it's that she shouldn't be trying to argue with him when he's cursed.]

...I'll see you tomorrow.

[And abruptly, she turns around again and starts to head for the door.]

[stargathering]

[ And that's not right, either. He reaches for her hand. ]

It's not- It's my fault.

Wait.

[ She shouldn't look that way; she has no reason to feel guilty. She's his best friend. It's hard to be open about what he's feeling, though. Really hard. ]

I know it's not-

[She halts when he takes her hand, though.]

What? Shouldn't we wait until the curse is over?

[stargathering]

You won't use what I think against me. I'm still myself...

[ He can feel himself panicking beneath his calm façade, though. It'd be easier to say his thoughts were a part of a curse. ]

Huh?

[Now she's getting confused. Did she say something wrong, she wonders?]

I'm not going to--that's why I should go, isn't it? You don't want me to hear what you're thinking...

[stargathering]

...

She's right... [ But he doesn't let go of her hand yet. He looks down at it, actually. He wonders if she thinks she shouldn't hear what he's thinking because he's being honest... ]

And you don't want to either, do you?

[...This is kind of awkward, but Tyr doesn't have any choice but to be honest right now, so...]

...I-it's not like I really...I don't mind what you're thinking. But listening in like this...I feel like some kind of weirdo. [Like a stalker or pervert or something.]

[stargathering]

[ He can understand that. It makes him feel more relieved than thinking she was...getting the right idea from his thoughts and didn't like it, either. ]

Yeah... It is weird... It's not natural.

[ He releases her hand. ]

We can talk later.

Yeah... [At least it seems like they agree. A part of her doesn't really want to go, but staying at the moment would just make it more awkward.]

So tomorrow, right? [She doesn't want him to stay distant over something like this.]

Right. I'll come to your place at the usual time.

[ After a few seconds, he thinks- ] She probably won't just forget this, though... There's no going back.
