See? This is why I'm hesitant to try BS. I've heard this about the show, and there are just so many other shows vying for my attention, the competition is something fierce. But now my friend who showed me Buffy is demanding I watch, so...

Yeah, the problem with BSG is definitely that it's oddly inconsistent. Or, at least, it has been lately; it stumbled a lot less in the first season, which I still say boasts one of the best finales I've seen.

I think the problem may be that it's so good at times, it breaks your heart when it doesn't live up to its own standards. That said, obviously no show can be fabulous all the time, but the contrast in quality between eps on BSG can seem so great, it's kind of like, "...what? Where the frak did that come from?"
