Oh frak! I just realized I'm missing all the brainstorming for Vividcon programming. I made sure to be there for registration, then got completely distracted with work and other life stuff. I've already started reading and there are a lot of great suggestions so far. I can't believe it's only 5 months away.

I've finished the first draft of my first vid since Vividcon, and would love to work with a Beta. I'm familiar with the critique process, but I don't know how it usually works with vidders. So I'm hoping to get responses from someone who's done this before. This is only my 4th vid, so I'm a little green.

I'm still in shock that the restaurant I work for is trying desperately not to fold for good. They've cut over half the shifts. A blog post written by Fred von Lohmann from EFF which argues against the movie studios' outrageous stubbornness. Good post, but funny, cause it sounds like Buffy vidders are the only vidders out there for someone who has never heard of vids. Still I'm happy anytime someone is making these arguments publically.

This is a great, very public way to shame those who use the DMCA takedown procedure to silence critics, claiming copyright infringement and ignoring fair use. I'm glad EFF is documenting this.
