... And, ok, the color is growing on me, but it isn't an instant favorite with me. Like I have mentioned before, I prefer jewel tones for fabric colors, and this one is not a jewel tone

While I don't have enough yards to make that kind of outfit (I only have 5, so maybe I could)... but that color combo is lovely. And the sleeves... I can make those kinds of sleeves. I have Lynn's pattern for those kinds of sleeves.
Thank you!!!! I might have something pretty to wear from this fabric after all.
I don't know about that color. I just don't think it will look good on you at all. I think you just need to send it to me so you don't have to look at that awful stuff anymore.
I always figured that "dead spaniard" (I forget, are we talking "dead spaniard" or "goose-turd green?") was sort of an egg-shell-y/pinkish/greenish color -- you know that "green around the gills" shade that you see in somebody who's sick?
You know, until I saw the post above (oh what a pretty pic), I was thinking of taking it to the CC26 swap meet, and swap it for something else. But now... my mind gears are turning.
we're going to be twinkies! That's almost the same EXACT color as the twill I dyed for my first dress. lol. And mine has the same funky splochyness. I'm passing it off as an experimental dye batch for my Dyer character, although I think the color will be more becoming on you than me. ; )
I love the trim too, that's going to look spectacular. Can't wait!
Sure, as long as i'm playing that character. In character the fabric was my first attempt at making green as an apprentice, I made it into a dress after working it off, and the failure of the dye bath. You are more than welcome to make your dress my second attempt at green, maybe you just fell in love with it and had to have it made into a dress, I dunno.
