Hey Honey,

I feel your pain, it is difficult, however Wheeled Farthingales will give you more not less of a choice for fabrics!

Don't go for silk, it insulates so you feel hotter, however there are some great cottons out there.

Also I have some very thin lovely linen, if you want I could share some! It is very light and still pretty strong. For me? The heat is worse because of wearing the hats and cauls with veils, I have found some really nice batiste I have made a couple veils with and I am now working on some linen cauls/coifs instead of the silk ones I have.

Are you going to the Santa Cruz Tudor Talks? I hope so I am heading down myself!! Can't wait til June!

Thanks for the suggestions. I need to look into images of ladies in wheel farthingales, and see what's available. I am using silks now as an accent, as I also would rather use the nice linens for other things, like a nice blackworked caul. I wish I could get a nice linen velvet, but I don't know if that would be as cool as the thin cotton ones or thicker or what. Do you know? Otherwise, it will be a pretty cotton, or a lightweight wool, as I can tolerate the heat ok with them.

While I was originally going to the Santa Cruz talks (it is closer to me), I am going to the Valencia TT talks, as it is on a Saturday and my husband won't have to take the day off from work in order for me to go. I also can't wait!!!

Oh, and yes, I would like to try that linen you purchased. Would you be willing to part with 4-5 yards?

For you doll? You betcha! Send me your real address to my email and I will mail it to ya!

I bought 25 yards so I can *Gulp* give up 4-5 yards, I use 3.5 yards for my self, using the tudor square neck, if that is what you are making.

I drank more than enough water, believe me. My cup was rarely empty, as we had young girls filling our cups constantly. I was sweating and still able to pee. I think it was the meds I am taking plus not being used to the heat.

And I was wearing very little underwear, just my husband's short shirt, my panties, corset and low socks. I could get a nice breeze from my farthingale, too.

Meds can make you a mess in the heat I bet your right thats what it was.... what I ment by underwear was your under dresses... instead of a full under dress (depending on the style of course) sometimes you can make fake sleves that are just from the shoulder or the elbow and a partlet (the neck area) to look like you have a long under dress on when infact it's just parts.... one less layer on your body. It is what most of the Tudor and Eliz ladies wear out here because it is usualy 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity. GOD how I miss the dry California summer. Humidity is an EVIL EVIL monster. I think I am going to keep my Tudor and Eliz for winter here and go with a middle eastern persona for the summers sauri here I come LOL and Tunics... you never know when it is going to flippin rain here. and OMG it POURS when it rains here.
