SBD pros/cons, and other diet thoughts.

I decided to take a break tonight from the sewing (pressing actually), and ended up reading up on the SBD diet info on the net, especially the criticisms. I also want to point out that those dieting on SBD or Atkins, and on anti-depressants, should read the big bolded quote behind the cut.
cut because it got long... but really, read what's here. )

Huh... my friend the nutrionist actually suggested eating bananas specifically when the munchies attack. It and blueberries were the only fruits she specifically recommended. I've used both of them for the curb the appetite food, and its worked really well.

'Course, I'm not doing the Adkins/SB thing either. :)

I do, however, eat almost exclusively whole grains. I'd say I'm in the whole grain zone about 90% of the time. Even our spaghetti these days is made with whole grain noodles.

I'm usually very hungry in the morning, and get serious late-night munchies.

I have found an excellent breakfast for filling you up, though. 1/2 c of Fiber One cereal, 1/c of blueberries, 1 sliced banana, and 8 oz of Weight Watchers Non-Fat Vanilla Yogurt, all mixed up in a big bowl. This keeps me going from about 8 a.m until well after noon. (Yes, I probably should cut it down to 1/2 a banana, but I love them so much, I just can't.) It works almost as well if you sub skim milk for the yogurt.

Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of the Belly Fat (tm) (and associated flabby skin), I'd have it made.

*sigh*
