Ah... the fabric from India is beautiful!

The red/black silk taffeta is just beautiful, in inside and outside light. I had forgotton how crisp taffeta is, and now I want yards and yards of this to make either an Elizabethan gown, or I think better yet, an 1870s bustle gown from this yummy fabric. And the white linen that I thought I would use for my hats.. it is a finer yarn, with fewer slubs and tighter weave than the handkerchief linen I recently got from denverfabrics.com! It may be a slightly heavier weight linen, but I may prefer this stuff for an Elizabethan shift it's so nice.

I finally got around to pre-washing the Czech linen from denverfabrics. It washes out very nicely. The "handkerchief weight" is perhaps a mite too heavy and a tad too course for modern handkerchiefs, but that's okay; it's perfect for a shirt/smock for RenFaire.

I'll be interested to see this weekend your new acquisitions.
