What's the deal with...
------

...the journals?
Each employee of Soul Society Inc. has their own personal journal on the company server, where they can write whatever they like.
They can make public notes (that anyone can read), private notes (marked 'private', lj-cut) and notes to specific people (marked 'private to #', lj-cut). Only the employee (and the person he/she is making a private note to) can read these private entries (though all can read it OOC). However, some more computer-literate people, such as the tech support and the Kurotsuchi's, can HACK journals and read private messages. (But this is illegal, so be careful not to get caught...)

...the e-mails?
All employees can send e-mails to each other. (Posted on the main comm.) These e-mail are private to the people they are sent to, unless the sender sends it to all employees. Just like with journals, however, an employee's e-mail account might be HACKED.

...character journal tags?
All character journal tags are OOC unless otherwise noted.
They are simply extra spice to the game.

...community tags?
On soulsociety_inc, there are lj tags for each character. Please use the tags when posting logs and e-mails, as per the rules.
On ssi_ooc, the only lj tag you need to worry about is the hiatus tag, that should be put up when you make a hiatus post. (There's the meme tags, too, but you won't risk inactivity if you miss that tag!)

...the bulletin board?
The bulletin board is an in-game fun thing that adds some flavor to the game.
You can post a comment here with a note (either written, or make a post-it note or another graphic) of any kind, from 'where is my folder' to 'Nanao rocks'. Free post-it notes can be found here.

...the character reservations?
If you reserve a character, the moderators will not approve any other applications for this character until you've sent in yours.
However, it is perfectly okay to send in applications for a reserved character, since a reserved character is not a set-in-stone way to get your character approved. If another player sends in a better application, we will approve that. The only thing reserving a character does is making sure the character will not be taken until you've finished your application for him/her.

...being denied to join the OOC/IC communities?
If you are not an approved character, your request to join the OOC/IC communities will be denied.
This is because the IC comm is only for the characters, and the OOC comm contains locked posts for player-eyes only. Therefore, even if you want to join the OOC comm to ask questions, you'll be denied. Questions shall be asked here, or in an e-mail to the mods.

...the time zone?
SSI's IC time zone is EST | UTC-5

...dropping?
If a player wants to drop a character, please announce it in the OOC comm, and then REMOVE all friends.
(Easiest way to do this is to use the friends console page and change all 'add' to 'remove'.) When dropped, the character's info will be put on the dropped page. A new player who wants to apply for a dropped character must use those basic parts of information, but are free to otherwise shape the character as they see fit.

...logs and e-mail setup?
In-depth E-Mail & Log Info
Logs are allowed to be backdated, but NOT forward dated.

...20 Facts?
The 20 Facts meme was started by former Ikkaku-mun as a fun thing, and then grew to a way to get to know your character.
It's just a fun thing and not something you have to do if you don't want to. The meme is about listing 20 facts about your characters. Check the 20 facts tag on the OOC comm to see examples.

...the Beat Collections?
The SSI Beat Collections is another meme created by Orihime-mun as another fun thing to do with your character. You make your character's FST. Check the bleach beat collection tag on the OOC comm to see examples.

...character birthdays?
List Of Character Birthdays
If you want to update your characters age after birthdays, please contact a mod or post on the taken characters page.

...game currency?
The currency in Karakura City is known as kan (which is the canon shinigami currency).
To make it easy for everyone, one kan equals one dollar.

...Karakura City's location?
Karakura City is not located in Japan. It's not really decided just where the game takes place, but since they deal with people from Korea, China and other places, it's probably somewhere on Earth, most likely Asia. The old profile cards sated 'AL' in the address, which stood for 'AfterLife', but that's been changed.
