Ted, just admit it

Have you heard about the new horror movie that's coming out? It features an ensemble cast of fresh-faced attractive talent and over the course of 90+ minutes their blood will be spilled all over the set in the most disgusting and graphic ways imaginable and features absolutely no nudity. Mr. Director, if your mid-budget slasher movie is going to ( Read more... )

To each their own I suppose, but Matarazzo will forever be emblazoned in my mind as Dawn Weiner. Thinking of her as anything other an awkward pre-pubescent is impossible for me.

Yeah, I remember that flick, but I saw her in other things, like "Now And Again" playing the daughter of Margaret Colin & John Goodman.

I am enjoying the Jane's Addiction reference.

Despite being a huge horror buff, the appeal of the Hostel films is lost on me, though I thought Eli Roth's trailer in Grindhouse was one of the best parts of the whole movie.

I was hoping at least ONE person would get the JA reference.

I think the reason that Hostel was so well received was because it was an unadulterated slasher movie with a decent budget. It wasn't clever, or cute. There were no plot twists and turns. There was no big surprise. There was no money wasted on a "name" cast. It was naked girls and gore, all shamelessly gratuitous. The sequel, in terms of plot was actually a bit more sinister, but, yeah... not enough boobs. ;-)

I lost my taste for horror movies with the increasing loss of vision. Sort of loses something and audio description doesn't quite cut it. Sigh. So now it is dialog laden movies for me. Sigh. Oh well, what to do?

Oh man. So like, are the audio descriptions in say, a slasher movie really boring? Like does it say something along the lines of "He cut his head off" or is it graphic, like "He took his head off and bright red blood is pumping like a geyser from what remains of his neck."

Actually it depends on who writes the script for the audio description. some is pretty bad. The secret to audio description is to give enough detail so a person gets the idea of what is happening, but not to be too wordy. Some describers are really good at expression and it does get pretty humorous at times.

Oh, slasher pics. I don't know if I just love tits, or love seeing the bimbos attached to them get done in. I would probably go see a horror film called "Irony," mistakenly thinking it was something arty. Hell, if they left in the blood and took out all the T&A, it might even be arty. But not in a good way.

I think everyone loves tits. How can anyone not love tits?

One of my big axes to grind is the sad state of the modern porn industry. Specfically, the move toward cheap amateur-barely-legal productions as the staple of the business. "Barely legal" seems to have also become synonymous with "small breasts." Now mind you, in the real world, I'm more of a leg guy and really could care less about the size of a woman's breasts. But in porn, they should all be big breasted, capable of taking a massive cock in any orifice, love to swallow, and be capable of positions requiring physical feats beyond that of a mortal woman. Where did things go wrong?

You make me laugh.

p.s. I don't really love tits. Unless they're my own.

That's the great thing about horror films. They're cautionary tales to let the youth know that if you do drugs, have sex, or act like an asshole - you will die a bloody gruesome death.
