Have some pictures and recipes.

We did an experimental cooking thing for a couple days-we each found a recipe on the internet that we liked, adjusted it to suit our needs, and did it up.

So here's pictures and instructions and stuff.

Kyle's offering: Chicken with sauteed onions, garlic, bacon, spices and cheese.

Under here )

kyle, omg yay, recipes, lj, holy shit people, learning is fundamental, food, share with the group, pictures, drumroll please

I so have to make those taco things for my mom, she'd love them. And I don't even like chicken but that looks excellent.

They were SO damn good. The rolls weren't all soggy either-you'd think they would be, but no!

The chicken was delicious, but not the best idea if you're used to eating only super-healthy stuff (like me ._.). All the, ah, grease.

Yeah, my mom is one of those that will never tell me what she wants me to make so it's always nice to randomly find ideas she'd like. She only eats like once a day now unless I make her something.

Well hopefully people share recipes here-I did ask xD If so, maybe you can find stuff she might like.

What is she into? I have a bit of a repertoire myself.

By the way I'll share my tamale pie recipe for you, you can add or leave out anything you want.

Taco seasoning packet (or other seasonings you like)
1 lb ground beef (or other ground or shredded meat)
one green pepper, diced
one yellow onion diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
olive oil
8 ounce can crushed tomatoes
15 ounce can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 1/2 cups shredded cheese
2 packages jiffy corn muffin mix, batter prepared as directed.

Grease nine inch baking dish, preheat oven to 400 degrees. In large skillet heat olive oil until hot, add in pepper, onion and garlic and saute until soft. Add in meat and cook until meat is cooked through. Drain and add back to skillet. Add in seasoning packet, 3/4 cup water, beans and tomatoes. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes until thick. Remove from heat and add cheese. Pour into prepared dish and pat down. Pour batter on top and spread evenly. Bake 20-25 minutes or until top is golden.

Oh damn. I know Kyle wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole but I would eat the shit out of that bitch. I'll MAKE friends just to have someone else to eat it with. Thank you bb ♥

My mom LOVES it. I don't really like that kind of thing much so she never asks me to make it but when I do she's so happy.

Why wouldn't Kyle touch what appears to be a "chili casserole"?

Anyway, you can easily adjust the amount it makes just make sure you use equal amounts of butter and flour and use as many cups of milk as you did tablespoons of butter/flour. You can add the cheese and sour cream to suit your tastes, using more or less. Without the sour cream the cheese soup part also makes really good mac and cheese or just general cheese sauce. Since I use sharp cheddar I don't add salt and my mom is very much anti pepper but normal people could obviously use that;) you can also saute some onions in the butter before adding flour (I originally made this with my sister in mind and she hated onions so I still always leave them out)

Oh good god, those taco things must be made like NOW. Those look delicious!

The chicken looked good too...I'd be tempted to deglaze the pan after with a lil wine or chicken stock and pour the resulting "sauce" on top of it all. :)

They were so delish. The original recipe called for sour cream and salsa-something to try if you're into it ^^
