Have some pictures and recipes.

We did an experimental cooking thing for a couple days-we each found a recipe on the internet that we liked, adjusted it to suit our needs, and did it up.

So here's pictures and instructions and stuff.

Kyle's offering: Chicken with sauteed onions, garlic, bacon, spices and cheese.

Under here )

kyle, omg yay, recipes, lj, holy shit people, learning is fundamental, food, share with the group, pictures, drumroll please

I make chili with:

a pound of chop meat
a jar of tomato sauce
two whole tomatoes, chopped
half a Spanish onion
a whole bell pepper or two halves of different-colored bell peppers
a can of chili beans

Brown and drain the meat.
Put into a stewpot over medium-high heat.
Pour in the tomato sauce, and add the tomatoes, onion, peppers, and beans.
Let it bubble for a good long time, stirring so the flavors meld together.

Options are: Shred cheddar cheese on top. Serve with noodles as a side or stirred in. Change the flavor of tomato sauce to obtain different aspects of the chili.

Homemade macaroni & cheese.

This is....sort of tricky.

Melt butter in a saucepan and add flour SLOWLY as to sort of soak up the butter. Stir a lot. Slowly, but obsessively.

When you think you have enough of the roux (I think this is how it is spelled, sounds like "roo"), slowly add milk so neither the butter nor the flour clumps.

While the milk & roux get approach a boil, shred cheese. Some people like pure cheddar, like me. Others like Velveeta. Use what you enjoy.

Also, get the noodles you prefer and get a pot of water boiling. The box will tell you how much water and how much noodles. Some people like elbows, some like ziti, others like the SQUIGGLZY kind. Others like bows or shells. Whatever ( ... )

Could probably do it over a hot plate or hell, an open fire if you have a fire pit ;)

Those Croissant Tacos look awesome and easy enough for me to make for dinner one night. I rarely cook and when I do it makes my husband really happy. Thank you for sharing!

The prep time was ridiculously short. I actually thought of you when I made them, because I know you're strapped for time :) I hope you like them if you decide to try them!
