Jordan leaned against a railing, drumming her fingers on the wood with a smile on her face. It felt like it had been too long since they had gone to shore, and with the little game that was laying ahead of them? Her smile grew into a grin, her fingers stilling. It was almost too much, this waiting. Bouncing on the balls of her feet a little, she moved in nearly uncontainable excitement.

"Hey! When are we gonna spot some land?"

Rose stood solitary on deck, hands clasped behind her back as she surveyed the crew. Her flaming red hair was caught up in the swirling winds of the vast ocean, and her eyes sought out the distant pinprick of land. The Captain was hopeful about this new venture, and Rose was cautiously allowing herself to be hopeful as well. It should be profitable, at the very least, and the landing party had been handpicked to be the least idiotic. If nothing else, Rose was confident that their captain could handle any disruptions, and that Rose would be right by Lilith's side to aide her in such a situation.

A bouncing crewmate caught her eye, and Rose turned, taking a calm step her way.

"Presumeably about thirty seconds ago," she replied, in a voice as cool and dry as grain. Actually... the land suddenly seemed startlingly close. How had they managed to cross so many miles of open water without her feeling the cold passage of time?

An eyebrow rose as Jordan glanced over her shoulder at her fellow crew mate, the smirk pulling at the corners of her mouth and the way her eyes roamed freely giving away her enjoyment at seeing Rose. She turned then, the breeze sweeping a few stray scarlet curls into her dark eyes as she placed a hand against a hip.

"I didn't see it thirty seconds ago," she whined, pursing her full lips out. Perhaps she had been lost in too much of a bloodlust whimsy to have really noticed it, her imagination blinding her to the approach of land. But there it was, as Rose had pointed out, the coast lining out along the horizon.

"It'll be good to get off the boat for a little bit of play..."

Ambrosia and AJ. Romancing the stone. Only not. admirestheroses February 2 2011, 04:00:28 UTC
AJ grinned as he stared at what he thought was the amazing entrance to the governor's daughter's room. His pulse quickened in eager excitement. The governor had allowed him to try courting the lovely lady. He'd noticed her from afar but never had a chance to approach her.

He licked his lips. Now was his chance. "Fair maiden, open your door so I may gaze upon your beautiful countenance."

Ambrosia Sterling, youngest (and only as-yet-unwed) daughter of the Governor of King's Port, sat at the wide picture window of her bedroom, gazing out to the sea that stretched ever outward toward the horizon. Her blue-gray eyes followed the rise and fall of a seagull cresting on the winds that blew inland from the shore, and a slight sigh escaped her lips ( ... )

Her voice alone sent shivers down his spine. She said hardly anything, but it was everything. His heart soared. He was a romantic to his core and the very notion of love- no matter how fleeting- lifted his mood impossibly high. He never thought he'd come down. If only he could catch a glimpse of the flaxen beauty. He knew he would be a happy man.

"I care not for such custom, milady. I know in my heart we are meant to be. If not for the rest of our lives, at least in this moment of time. Let me in so I may be graced with your beauty and captivated by the light of your presence."
