Picking up and pieces and putting everything back together was proving to be interesting, as well as a little bothersome. Little by little, that usual swing would peer around the corner. Students and staff would relax and resume their normal schedules. At least. . .they sort of would, anyway ( ... )

A few of the visible titles included but were not limited to:

* God is dead by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche
* The Twelve Gates by the renowned English Alchemist George Ripley
* Der Tragödie erster Teil by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
* The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe

If not for his keen senses, the counselor may have missed the soft sound of knocking at his chamber door. Putting aside the paperwork he'd been looking over he crossed the room in only a few strides. Gently opening the door he stood to the side, politely inviting the other to enter. Leveling his gaze on Endrance, it was soon apparent that this was not someone Claude had met previously. "Salutations, Mr--". He paused, allowing Endrance to convenietly fill in the blank for him.

"Please come in and make yourself comfortable". This open door policy was unusual. At least only one person had taken him up on it thus far.

Not a bad collection. He could have smiled. Maybe he'd ask what else the other had to offer -- but possibly not. The quicker this was over with, the better -- and the quicker he could return to his personal quarters.

"Endrance, please. . ." The office was entered and marvelled at. It was so neat and tidy, clean and fresh, perhaps the cleanest room in the whole school, maybe even cleaner than his own. Endrance saw it to be refreshing.

Given the word, he'd somewhat relax, taking his seat and passing his company a glance before settling it to his interlocked hands. A breath, followed by, "I'm. . .not here because of the recent incident -- at least. . .not exactly. . . It is something more personal, different. . ."

Really, only one piece was even related to what had happened. The rest was completely detached.

"Are you familiar with. . .dream interpretation. . . ?"

Endrance wanted to used that term as loosely as possible, despite having failed at that mission.

"Endrance then," Claude repeated to acknowledge that he'd heard the response, and to commit the name to memory. Somehow he'd missed it when he reviewed the student roster last time. Personally the counselor was relieved to see that someone appeared to have good taste. Although Endrance didn't comment about it he seemed to appreciate the fastidious work that had gone into the room. The last student who ventured here.. kept trying to rearrange everything ( ... )

Kadaj stood outside Claude's office with one goal in mind: to make Claude regret lying to him. He had feigned surprise when the counselor had agreed with him even though he had expected him to. Just because someone said something didn't mean they really meant it, and he figured Claude's true intentions were somewhere along the lines of fixing him. Something equally stupid.

That's what all adults wanted, wasn't it? That's what all people wanted, and once he was all better and brainwashed they could either use him or leave him to a terrifying life of boredom and mediocrity. Neither outcome was one Kadaj was willing to allow to happen. Despite his cynicism, he still enjoyed the game. People were always so foolish, trusting themselves, and he enjoyed feeding into that trust until he could do something they had never predicted and ruin all their careful plans in the process. Giving a harsh knock, he shouted, "You should really burn those!"

Strangely, the counselor had not been lying about how he appreciated the others forthrightness, but this did not mean than the boy believed him. It was his job at this institution to try and "fix" students but in Kadaj's case it sounded like a terrible shame. He seemed to have a more accurate interpretation of the human race, their flaws, and how meaningless it was to try and do anything with them... beyond taking their soulsAnother conflict of interest, it would seem ( ... )

Kadaj smiled, putting on a warm facade and hummed, "I was happy to come." He stepped past Claude and dropped down into one of the seats, resting his hands behind his head. "I find burning is one of the easiest and most efficient solutions to just about everything. But I like to try and get more creative!" He paused thoughtfully, deciding to be extra considerate and propped his feet up on the desk.

He pressed his heels against the desk to push the chair back, letting it sway back and forth until it threatened to fall all the way back. "What were we going to talk about, Sir?"

The energy emanating of of this student was so much stronger in person. A rare and unique soul.. it was almost enough to make one salivate at the very thought of it.

Dark....

isolated....

violent.......

...... Feet on his desk....

.......................................

.........................................................

..........................................................

All thoughts of the boys soul swiftly evaporated replaced by an internal feeling of loathing. At least the desk was not used in the service of preparing or serving a meal however the action struck a cord.

Apparently Claude had made a mistake. Instead of Make yourself comfortable it should have been take a seat like a respectable human being would.... Alas, the error was his own, and it wouldn't do to reprimand Kadaj about it now. He would have to try and stand it ( ... )
