Re: STAFF TABLE spikespiegel_19 August 18 2008, 23:58:21 UTC
Spike had been faking his interest in the ceremony the best he could, but all he could think about was the wonderful feast he was about to partake in... and all the drinks he was about to consume. That was one thing he loved about the wizard-world more than the muggle-world; the alcohol (as well as other foods and beverages, however much less it concerned Spike) was so much better. In the muggle towns you couldn't find a drink that made you breathe fire temporarily. Oh well, the muggles were of no concern to Spike right now ( ... )

When the new Muggle Studes professor had been introduced, Howl couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow and glance down the table at him. The name had seemed awfully familiar, and after looking the face had too. Perhaps someone he went to school with, but surely Howl couldn't be bothered to remember everyone. He surely wasn't in his former house. All the same, it didn't matter much. Its not like Howl was actually going to be the one to say something to the man. The only reason he would ever talk to him would be if he talked first. Maybe not even then.

Spike was enjoying some sort of mead-wine and talking amongst the lot of professors when he felt a glance burn in his direction. He looked over to see a professor look away from him, but before the man turned his stare he noticed the look on his face; some sort of curiosity, but Spike felt it might have been in a scoffing sort of way. Wonder if it's a Slytherin graduate? Usually those types stare like that. They think they're so much better... Ahhhh crap. Spike was having too good of a time to let this get him down, so there's no need to approach in a hostile manner. Why not be cordial?

Spike turned in the direction of the blonde haired man and set his drink down. "Excuse me," Spike said in a calm tone. Making himself as cheery as he could be, "Hi, I'm Spike. Spike Spiegel. The new muggle studies professor."

Mukuro watched the assorted festivities with a detached interest and a pleasant smile on his face while he ate, nibbling on some fresh fruit while he watched the other students.

The professors always said "I hope to see you all back this fall", but in fact, this rarely came to pass. There would be students who failed to return, as well as new students transfer in.

To say nothing of the first years.

Mukuro was more interested with learning the new faces than the event it's self. Tearing apart a croissant into smaller pieces to eat, he surveyed his own table first.

Mai walked in slowly not really caring that today was the first day. She didn't want to be here anyway. She'd much rather be back in the dungeons in her common room, or better yet, her own room, where she could sit alone and think. This whole bonding with her housemates thing was so overrated.

Her eyes glanced down the row until she found an empty seat, which she quickly took and grabbed a bite of chicken from the plate in front of her, tearing a little piece off and beginning to eat it. Her eyes didn't move from her plate, though she was well aware of the boy across the table from her. He appeared too interested in whatever was going on. Time would break him of that.

One of the women in the class... Mukuro recalled seeing her around. She seemed to enjoy a perpetual sour mood. Now if her magic was any good or not, that remained to be seen.

Growing tired of his croissant, he settled to sipping his juice.

RAVENCLAW TABLE- ie the loner table D: starred_land August 25 2008, 19:30:57 UTC
The sorting of the students had gone over as it usually did here- and the feast was proceeding just the same. Riku would normally be joining his house mates in getting a jump start on the year, but a commotion at the Gryffindor table had caught his attention.

Roxas, Sora's twin, seemed to be having a fit of some sort. That or a fight with that obnoxious redhead, Axel. He was more worried about Sora though- he could spot that false little grin from a mile away now after several years of knowing the boy. Sighing to himself, he packed up the parchment he had been scribbling on and excused himself from his house mates. He should go see what was going on- he hadn't seen Sora for an entire summer anyway.

HUFFLEPUFF TABLE hdmaster_cid August 18 2008, 22:36:33 UTC
Re: HUFFLEPUFF TABLE angelwand August 19 2008, 11:57:51 UTC
Chaos in the form of Vash the Stampede and his feline cat was already unfolding at the Hufflepuff table.

From the casual observer, it would see like both boy and cat were hunting donuts, and in a dire race to be the first to get there. The donuts were a tricky thing, after all. As food came up from the kitchens, you could never expect where exactly it would pop up. And while everyone should have gotten the same things, Vash had a sneaking suspicion the moggles actually catered to the typical tastes of each given house.

If the donuts turned up on another table, Vash was going to beg, cry, or find a way to steal them. Quite possibly all three.

Kuroneko already gave up the chase, making a fat toned "Nya" and settling into a plate of eclairs.

Ty Lee nearly jumped out of her seat when a black cat leaped onto the plate of desserts she was reaching out towards. "Eww! There's fur on the elcairs now!" she said, lifting the cat off and settling it in her lap. Her direction glanced around the table, trying to find the owner of the cat. She was pretty sure it was a fellow Hufflepuff's, having seen Kuroneko in common room before. When her eyes landed on the older blond wildly searching about the table for something, she held the cat up. "Excuse me? Is this yours?" she asked.

"Ahahahahahaha! I'm afraid so. Sorry about that" Vash moved to take him, only to get his hand thoroughly clawed as the cat hopped off and out of sight.

"Darn..... have you seen the donuts come up yet?" He asked, still looking around like a lost soul.

As usual, Roxas sat by himself...or as much by himself as he could, since the table was full. Ever since his third year, he'd wished he could just skip this part...and this year was no different. He ate slowly and quietly, hoping that he'd look unavailable for any conversation. He was also quite aware that was impossible with his House, especially with Sora around.

It didn't stop him from trying his hardest to look like he was going to murder anyone who so much as brushed against him or acted as if they wanted to hold a conversation with him.

Axel had taken up a set near Roxas, having no spare seats near anyone else he knew. He didn't really mind the arrangement, but he new from experience that short-blond-and-emo could be a bit of a downer at these kinds of thngs.

"You know, the point of the feast is to enjoy it."

Roxas paused for a moment, as if he were about to say something but thought better of it, and simply ignore Axel pointedly instead.

Axel was always the type to just insult back if Roxas said anything, so this time Roxas decided that simply pretending that tall-red-and-annoying didn't exist would be a much more successful endeavor.

...Not that either one had ever really worked before.
