There was just no end to this place, was there? No matter how much Chao explored, the self-changing sets of stairs and tall hallways made it more than difficult for an eight year old mind like hers to find a way out of here. She didn't want to be here and from the way she hunched her shoulders together and her eyes darted around, it was a little obvious. She couldn't trust anyone here. Any of them could be wizards and seeing that tall blonde man already proved that.
Just where was she now anyway? After much some searching in the lower floors and still no real idea where the exit was, the little Chinese girl decided to reach the tallest point in the castle to look for it. Of course, now that she reached the top, her small brown eyes took the rather spacious room. So many windows, all tainted gray by the dull winter clouds outside gave the room a mix between both incredibly spacious and yet somehow uncomfortably unsettling. She could almost already see wispy shapes taking form among the grayish clou-no, she wasn't going to focus on it. She was here for a reason. Not letting her imagination get the best of her, she hurried her way to the nearest window and fumbled with the ice cold lock to to open the window.
With a yawning whine, the window swung open to the wintry world beyond. Despite her arms and legs tightening together instinctively at the freezing air flooding the tower, Chao's eyes were wide in awe at the scale of magnificence the view of the outside had. A carpet of white snow covered almost never ending fields all around, with sleepy grey trees almost like a wall around the already mystical castle. It was all so big and pretty and yet...where was the entrance? With a couple of dry blinks, she looked toward beneath the tower to see if she missed something. Maybe she missed seeing it as she already knew people like her momma who missed seeing their keys when it was right there in front of her.
Maybe it was just around the tower to where she couldn't see it standing where she was. Carefully, she leaned her shivering small form over the window ledge to get a better angle. As long as she didn't do something silly like step on the ledge's frozen stone, she should be fine...
