Of course, after sitting around the hospital wing he really wanted to read and armed with his new glasses, he could. He trailed after Al thoughtfully, looking excited. It was going to be great.
He entered the room after Al. "What kind of books do you think we'll find?"
"I doubt that the two of you will find anything of interest here. But." He paused, a smirk playing on his lips as he set the guitar down beside the desk. He stood, making a quick motion with his hand to the expanse collection of text shelved behind him. They were not there because Daryan loved to read, oh no. They were there because Daryan thought it made him look a bit more professional, .. &they hadn't another home. Some of them, however; did, in fact, belong to him. He had attended Hogwarts after all. Mystery & Crime novels were among the ones that populated most of the top shelf. Older textbooks followed suite. Beneath that was a very varied group of novels ( both fiction and non ) and of course, more textbooks. That particular batch was not his per say, but his mother and father's. Now, unfortunately, they belonged to him. "Both of you are more than welcome to look
( ... )
"Yeah, hi." Edward said distracted by the books. He wandered over to the bookshelves and, after dismissing the fiction novels, he started to poke at the old textbooks. Those were, after all, interesting. He hmmed a bit as he browsed.
After a few beats and a book in his hand, he asked, somewhat dazed and distracted. "Start what?"
Oho. Alphonse hadn't said anything to Edward about the appointment yet. How very- interesting. It would probably be better to let the younger brother address the situation at hand. Ease the elder in, sort to speak. So, playing the question off, as though it hadn't happened, Daryan changed subjects.
"Find anything you like, ..? I doubt that some of the Professors even use these older editions." He took a seat on the edge of his desk, watching as Ed browsed through his collection. "Although, that is what makes them interesting. Most of the curriculum changes are because they remove material and not so much because the add it."
Daryan had expected an explosion, yes. But honestly, it was not as bad as he had thought it would be-- yet. From what Alphonse had told him, Edward had quite the temper. "Edward, calm down. There is nothing to be upset about." He folded his arms, heaving a sigh as he stepped between the brothers. "Your brother is just looking to help you."
His fury was like a volcanic eruption. "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! I DO NOT NEED A COUNSELOR!" Edward screamed at Al. "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU THINK THIS? JUST WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I NEED THIS? YOU KNOW I DON'T WANT TO BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHAT YOU WERE UP TO. YOU MANIPULATIVE BASTARD!"
"Because you DO need it," Al glared at him. "Even if you don't want to admit it! You need to talk to SOMEONE, Brother, even if it's not me. You just... keep burying stuff inside of you instead of dealing with it, and someday you're really going to explode. I don't know if I'll be able to save you when it does," the last part was said quieter.
"I didn't tell you because then you wouldn't have come at all, and I wanted to at least try."
"Edward. Enough." He spoke suddenly, interrupting the sibling bickering. Daryan was no longer smiling, but instead glaring daggers between the two boys. "I thought that you were the older brother, Edward, but your display tells me otherwise. Your brother did the right thing by coming to me. It isn't healthy to bottle up all your feelings, emotions, and thoughts." He stepped back, sitting on his desk. "If you continue to do so, you may hurt someone close to you without realizing it."
Daryan smiled, snickering right back at Edward. "Well, I look forward to watching- you- try. Mm, yeah. Saturday and Friday would probably be good, .. although, we will have to be more vigilant. I'm not sure what all the other students do over the weekend." Hopefully this would all work out. It had taken some time, but Daryan had found something that the three of them enjoyed, and this, he could work to his advantage. Maybe he could get Edward talking after that. He held himself back. One step at a time. "It's settled then. We'll just need to be careful."
"Yeah alright, we can be careful." Edward looked pretty pleased with it all and relaxed. Maybe this therapy wouldn't be so bad. He had always liked sparring with Izumi.
