Working at home today

If I weren't plodding along here working at home, I might very well have stayed at home. Sinus/allergies/headache today. Actually have been fighting this for the past week. Woke up around 5 with pain and then slept sitting up after that-- it helps a little. Any of you have this? What do you do? I do take various prescribed things, and try to drink ( Read more... )

Rufus looks concerned for your well-being.

I usually take Benedryl Severe Sinus Headache for things like that. It totally knocks me out, but I usually wake up feeling better. Hope you feel better soon!

thanks-- you and restoman saved me. i had given up on sinus meds a few years ago because i was using them too frequently and getting blowback--i.e., they weren't working at all. but now i think i have to just figure out when it's a migraine, when it's sinus, and use the right drug at the right time. anyway-- on monday after i rad your post and resto's, i dug some old tylenol allergy sinus out of the closet and took it, and i felt better within an hour.

I have a problem with allergies. My allergies seem to be: pollen, housedust, and possibly mold spores. I get bad sinus headaches, sore throat, runny nose, and watery eyes which often leaves me susceptible to whatever cold or flu viruses are going around ( ... )

as i said above to disclaimer', thanks! and i bought some new benadryl to have on hand.

y'know, i do need to do the housecleaning thing too. as you do, i have dogs....and they sleep in my bedroom.

i am going to try the local honey thing too. someone at work who is a beekeeper in VA was telling me the same thing you just told me on monday. he also cautioned that you should make sure it's local honey, and that even chain grocery store honey that says (e.g.) "Made in VA" can be combined with Chinese honey that has been heated so that it loses nutrients (not to mention, it ain't local). i asked him when his honey would be ready, and he said not til late summer. but honey actually lasts long on the shelf (he told me honey was found in egyptian tombs), so i'm going to go to a farmer's market or co-op.

i looooove honey.

so, lots of little things in combination can help, in addition to drugs.
