I liked it a lot and as for S/U, the film was a huge importune compared to STID.

I loved it, inside and out. The sad puzzled look when Bones pointed out he had given Uhura a tracking device though...lol. #podat

And at the end! my heart! Spock is very sweet even though he speaks very eloquently. i wanted to write more fic but i'm so idea dry...i hate it! i love them so much ;~;

I felt that the characters had not progressed from the last film and the writers tried to reset the reboot to appease the fans who didn't want an evolution.

To an extent, same here. To me it seemed like they were trying to walk the line a bit but mainly wanted to please the fans that didn't want IDIC or evolution. That's par for the course at this point

I liked it. Had fun. I appreciated the realism of how boring and monotonous space exploration has to be. It's not all action and adventure. I could see why Spock (and Kirk) would be hit with doubt although I would have liked a deeper exploration of the issue and the affect it had on Uhura. (aside from the breakup.) I do like how even injured he insisted on going to look for her...that realization of how much he cared when he was hoping to bury it

I'm new to the Star Trek fandom and to the Spock/Uhura pairing, but after watching the new movie I can now say I'm a fan. I wish I had gotten into Star Trek much sooner because now I have to catch up on lots of stuff, lol. I'm hoping to at least watch the first two reboot films soon and find some good Spuhura fics to read.

As for the movie, I enjoyed it so much more than I expected! It's not perfect but I really liked it. I've seen it twice already. While I wish there had been more scenes with Spock and Uhura, I still liked the little moments we got and became fascinated with them. It's nice to see an interracial/interspecies pairing (that are also great characters individually) in a major blockbuster.

Here's hoping for a proposal/wedding in Spuhura's future! :D

good to see a new fan and you hit the nail of the first film. they were fascinating to watch and you wanted to know more. I will advice you to read some of the comics

Overall I liked beyond and i am happy the film put them back on track, We sure need a wedding and proposal and I wish we hard one in the film because it would have made the film come full circle because spock was thinking of leaving to marry a vulcan woman, purposing to uhura in the end would have been better but at least he admitted he wanted to be with her again and she was happpy about it.

as an S/U fan, I am just happy we got something better after the awful STID
